Some of the medium includes oil tempera, oil paints, gouache, pastels, water colors and acrylic. Tempera is a medium which consists of colored pigments and get greater precision for the artist. Water colors need water to show their true color and indeed become transparent. This is because the medium provides an artist with smooth matte finish and its history can be found in early Egyptian sarcophagi in which they use to decorate mummy portraits.
